Waiting for Sunrise - book draw

William Boyd's Waiting for Sunrise  is one of the most beautifully written modern novels that I have had the pleasure of reading. You can read my review of it on The Dabbler

If you would like a chance to win my copy, then leave a comment here on this post and I will draw a name at the end of next week. If you want to increase your chances of winning,  there are two more copies available on The Dabbler. There are always free books available there for readers who join the book club so why not join now? Happy reading!

  1. Oh, M, I am a huge admirer of William Boyd's novels, especially Any Human Heart. (Have you read it? If not, I think you would love it.) Your excellent review has made me desperate to read Waiting for Sunrise, so I'm going to go straight to the head of the queue and leave a comment, just in case.

I hadn't read any of William Boyd's novels but they are all now on my wishlist. Good luck in the draw and don't forget the other chances on The Dabbler.

  3. One of my resolutions for 2012 is to read more and so far so good with 3 books read and a 4th almost finished. I read your review on The Dabler and this sounds like the kind of book I'd like to read so keeping my fingers crossed.

  4. Iused to read the Richard Hannay books years ago so this one sounds rather good from your excellent review. I'll keep an eye out for it at the library. Don't enter me in your draw as I won the last one and it's someone else's turn now.

  5. With words of praise like yours, how can I not enter?! I'm not going to read the full review since I like to be surprised.

I don't see why you shouldn't have the same chance as everyone else. Into the hat you go!

I promise that I never give away the plot in my reviews. It is quite safe to read it. I like to be surprised, too! Good luck in the draw and you could have two more chances on The Dabbler.

  8. I have just "Dabbled" and skipped through your review. Just like Nan I don't like to know too much about the characters or the plot. It is not your normal reading genre but I have come across Boyd before and enjoyed the style of writing. I am not sure whether you can enter me for the draw as your integrity may be compromised if your brother wins. (However, if you do put me in, and I win, I am sure your blogger friends know enough about you to know there is no doubt about yoour honesty.)

  9. Hi J
If you've just read my review on the Dabbler you know that I haven't given anything away about characters or plot - I never do! I will certainly enter you in the draw and you can get two extra chances via the Dabbler book club. So far, all entries here are from my friends so adding a brother to the mix won't tip the balance - I would like everyone to win!
I hope you are getting some good skiing. Mx

  11. I've also won before, but since you say I can try again, here I am. I've been a great fan of William Boyd ever since he came to speak at Smith's (now Waterstone's) here in Brussels.
