I used a Debbie Bliss pattern but wasn't able to get hold of the correct yarn and the shoes will probably fit Millie next year! However, not to be defeated, I started again with smaller size needles (pins) and Millie will be getting a parcel from grandma with two pairs of garter stitch shoes, plus the sweater and scarf.
I will be making the draw for A Scrapbook of Christmas Firsts tomorrow. If you would like to enter then leave a comment (enter me, please, will do) on this post or on the original. Good luck.
They are great. I love traditional baby clothes, but done in modern colours and with updates.
ReplyDeleteIf you were really brave you could try felting the too-large pair...it's not always an exact science though!
Rattling on
ReplyDeleteGlad you like them. I've just been reading an article on felting and would like to try it but I think it only works with 100% wool and I used a wool mixture for these. I wish I could get to the kind of yarn sales that you manage to find. Our one and only shop that sells wool has a really limited range (never heard of Rowan or Debbie Bliss!) and I am wary of buying online because the colours aren't true. I'm working on it!
