The power of honey

Put away your pills and lotions and try the honey and cinnamon cure.

I read all about it in today's edition of the Bulawayo Morning Mirror.

The magic of Honey

It is found that a mixture of Honey and Cinnamon cures most diseases. (Their words, not mine!)
ARTHRITIS
Take one part of Honey to two parts of lukewarm water and add a small teaspoon of Cinnamon powder. Make a paste and massage it on the itching part of the body slowly
Arthritis patients can take one cup of hot water with two spoons of Honey and one teaspoon of Cinnamon powder every day
HAIR LOSS
Apply a paste of hot Olive Oil, one tablespoon of Honey and one teaspoon of Cinnamon powder. Massage onto head and keep on for 10 to 15 minutes then wash off. Do regularly to alleviate hair loss or baldness
BLADDER INFECTIONS
Take two tablespoons of Cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of Honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink to destroy germs in the bladder
CHOLESTEROL
Two tablespoons of Honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea, when given to a cholesterol patient it reduces the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10% within 2 hours
STOMACH UPSET
Honey taken with Cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also cleans stomach ulcers from the root. It also relieves gas in the stomach
INFERTILITY
If men regularly take two tablespoons of Honey before sleeping it can help to resolve the problem
For women, a pinch of Cinnamon powder in half a teaspoon of Honey, applied to the gums frequently throughout the day, so that it mixes with saliva and enters the body, can help to strengthen the uterus and aid with fertility
IMMUNE SYSTEM
Daily use of Honey and Cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks. Also good for cancer etc patients and heart disease. Though sweet, Honey when taken moderately as a medicine, will not harm diabetic patients
SKIN INFECTIONS
A paste consisting of three tablespoons of Honey and one teaspoon of Cinnamon powder, when regularly applied to the skin can get rid of pimples, eczema, ringworm and all sorts of skin infections
WEIGHT LOSS
Every morning, on an empty stomach half an hour before breakfast, and again at night before sleeping, drink Honey and Cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water
LONGEVITY
Tea made with Honey and Cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages of old age, increases life span and makes you look and feel younger
LOSS OF HEARING
Honey and Cinnamon powder taken in equal parts daily, can restore hearing.

I wish I had discovered this before embarking on that year of chemotherapy and wouldn't you just know that it cures weight loss and not weight gain!

  1. The Russians also consider honey to be a bit of a cure-all and use it instead of sugar in most things.
I have heard that bee stings are good for arthritis and such, and people keep bees specifically to sting them.
I suppose you get used to it after a while, but the first few times must be agony.
Loved the post and may now have to get some cinnamon powder to test a few of the claims...

  2. Hello there
I've heard of the healing powers of honey but not with the addition of cinnamon powder - nevertheless I too will try it out - trouble is it's going to be very sweet tea lol

I'll try anything once and if it does help with my cholesterol problem, makes me live longer as well as look better I'll be on a winner:)

You know when I have a very rare cold the first thing I do is take honey, lemon and aspirin in hot water so maybe there's something in it after all

Bit of a bummer about the weight loss and not weight gain!
    Take care

I don't think I will be seeking out bee stings but I might give the cinnamon and honey tea a try.

I've just looked again at the list and wonder if it really means to encourage weight loss rather than to cure it. What do you think?

  4. My mother-in-law claimed bee sting treatments worked wonders for her arthritis.

Fortunately, I don't suffer from arthritis but perhaps it would be worth enduring a few bee stings if you were already in a lot of pain.

  6. Good-oh, I love honey. Not sure about bee-sting treatment though.

  7. There has been some research done on the medical properties of honey and there does seem to be some truth in the myths and rumours. It is purported to have antiseptic qualities and has apparently been used with some success in developing countries to facilitate the healing of open wounds such as burns. Perhaps as honey tastes so wonderful, it just makes us feel good. About the stings, well I kept bees for some years and had plenty of stings but also have arthritis so I reserve judgment on that one. Bee venom can also bring on anaphylactic shock so perhaps it's a good idea to avoid the stings and just enjoy the delicious honey whether or not it has healing properties and I guess in Zimbabwe anything is better than nothing!

  8. There's a great quote from Lilias Folan:
"The yawn is said to be like honey for the body; it has the ability to both soothe and energize."

I put honey in my coffee every day, and use it when I bake bread. The thing is you must know where it comes from. It is often adulterated so buying locally from a trusted beekeeper or store is the way to go. It is also written that the more local your honey, the better it is for allergies. I am such a honey fan, and a believer in the health benefits. The cinnamon I didn't know about. Thank you.

  9. Like you, Susie and Crinny, I'm not convinced about the arthritis. But I do love honey and use it in lots of dishes.

    Nan
I'm lucky that I get my honey from my daughter who has 3 hives, producing lots of honey. I do buy local honey to mix with cider vinegar for my husband to drink during his hayfever season because it is supposed to be more effective against allergies.

Let me know how you get on with the cinnamon, I haven't tried it yet.
