Babies galore!
We now have three new babies in the family. First, my daughter, Tanith, gave birth to Amelia Catherine in March. Here she is wearing that little jacket I knitted for her.
Then in April, Edinburgh niece, Desni, gave birth to Hannah Elise.
And now, Lancashire niece, Helen, has produced Theo John.
Well done girls! What fun family gatherings will be in the next few years.
Somehow 'great aunt' sounds so much older than 'grandma'. Grandmas knit and read stories and have fun, great aunts wear bombazine dresses and jet beads! I feel that I must become more serious and set a better example now.
Whoever said that babies all look the same! I bet Theo John's granddad is tickled pink - or in this case, blue. Well done and congratulations all parents and grandparents.
M, as a great-aunt several times over and with no chance of becoming a grandma, let me assure you that great-aunthood is a very special vocation in which one can cultivate ones very best tendencies for being totally batty and irrisponsible. It is the greatest fun! I am with Juliet in encouraging you to be thoroughly bad, mad and wonderful to know. Your Great-grand nieces/nephew will love you for it.
Miss M. looks mighty fetching in that stunning sweater.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun it will for her to grow up with cousins so close in age. I had tons of cousins and we had great times at family gatherings.
More knitting, M! Quick!

ReplyDeleteYes, Crinny, John is delighted. Baby Theo was born 4 weeks early so John wasn't in England for the big event. He is making up for lost time now.
ReplyDeleteOh *please* don't become more serious or set a better example, M. We love you being fun and leading us all astray!

ReplyDeleteI expect it is too late to start mending my ways anyhow!
ReplyDeleteThey're all just gorgeous! And Amelia looks lovely in her new jacket. She's growing up... you'll soon be off to the cinema with her! :-)
ReplyDeleteShe has her first cinema trip booked for next week! Sadly, Grandma can't come this time as we are in London.
ReplyDeleteTanith, do tell everyone about the Screamers. It's a lovely idea. Let us know how it went.
