More from the memory book

I'm really having fun looking through my old books and papers; perhaps retirement isn't so bad, after all.
This is a Christmas card from the early 1970s, made for me by a colleague. I taught a class of ten young deaf children, ranging in age from 4 to 8 years and Ralph taught the older class. Susan was my brilliant assistant.
Ralph succeeded in capturing the idiosyncrasies of each child. I'd love to know how they all developed, they must be around 40 years old now. Imagine all that dopiness, bashfulness, grumpiness, sleepiness and happiness in adult form. Is Dave still a football supporter? Did Jon ever get rid of those allergies? Is Lee G. a hooligan and Lee B. a doctor? The only story that I did see to the end is that of the third Lee, the Herder, and that was a sad one. I hope the rest are thriving.

  1. That is hilarious! The "tranquilizer-laced apples" is classic. And this was before Ritalin!

  2. Glad you like it. Poking fun at ourselves keeps teachers sane.
