New Year Greetings

I would like to wish all who call by here, as friends, regular visitors or passers by, happiness, peace, good health and prosperity in 2009. I'll share one of my favourite blessings from Iona:

God bless our good dreaming.
Lift us out of our dull and lifeless moments
so that we may tumble with fools,
skip with children,
walk on water
and fly with angels.

Happy New Year!

  1. Maureen- I love being able to see your lovely face at last! Now I can picture you when I read yoru blog.
Thank you for the lovely thoughts, especially the prayer. It is beautiful. I am feeling better after receiving a blessing from my son and the comfort from the knowledge that my Heavenly Father knows my burdens and will give me the things I need to endure. The injured one has calmed down greatly and is milking his boo-boos for all they are worth. Honestly.
Have a happy New Year. Oh, you only have an hour to go!! I'll be thinking about you at 7 pm our time.

  2. A Very Happy and peaceful New Year to you too!!!
(5 hours and 50 mins to go here..aren't time zones strange things!)

  3. You can't beat a good Celtic blessing can you, M? May those good wishes be returned to you a hundredfold.

I'm raising a metaphorical glass to our deepening friendship and to many more meetings in 2009.

PS Are you still up for that quilting course ... ?

  4. Karin and Val, I think we are all in 2009 now, so very best wishes to you.

D, I will look up the details at once!

  5. What a wonderful blessing! And a happy New Year to you, too, Maureen.

  6. And to you! Wonderful words. Thank you for sharing your blog this year. I have so enjoyed meeting you.

  7. Happy New year to you too M, and to all your family and friends - virtual ones included. I enjoy being part of this little international community and although not very 'vocal', I take great pleasure in travelling to the different Blogs who visit at Random Distractions, and reading them I am affirmed in my certainty that there a many lovely people in our world.

  8. Crinny, you are so right. There are so many lovely people that I would not have encountered but for blogging.

Nan, I love my visits to your Hill Farm and hope that you and yours have a good 2009.

  9. What a wonderful blessing - and from one of my favourite places on earth, too. I wish you a happy, blessed and peaceful new year also. (And may 2009 be the year in which we meet at long last!!)

  10. That would make it a wonderful year, J.

  11. A little late but thank you for posting the poem. It is a fitting ambition/wish. All the best for 2009 and beyond Michele

  12. Thanks, Michele. Family and illness got in the way of my return visit to Rackenford. I hope to see you before too long. Very best wishes for 2009.

I love to read your comments and promise that I will reply as soon as I can leave my garden, sewing room or kitchen!
