Chocolate cake for my boy

I'm off to spend a couple of days with my son. This should get me out of the washing up. A ganache coating might have secured the most comfortable chair but I don't have time. Note to self: no reading interesting blogs for 24 hours before next visit.

  1. Solution to the yob and chav menaces: "Behave yourselves or you don't get any chocolate cake!"

Nah, too cruel. Better to just smack them.

  3. Make sure to press him about marriage and note as often as you can that his sister is even now pulling into what may be an insurmountable lead in the grandchild competition.

  4. Oh dear, this house is a cake-free zone right now but I can feel myself weakening as I write this. Have promised to make a Norwegian Party Cake (devil's food cake sandwiched and topped with coffee butter cream and sprinkled with mimosa balls . . .) for the big 60. But can I wait that long?

Have a good visit; I bet that yummy cake doesn't last long.

  5. David, I'm a self-confessed pacifist!

60goingon16, I don't usually get to eat any of my cake but I doubt that I could resist the one you describe! I hope you'll show a photo of it when the birthday comes.
