The Amazing Mrs Pritchard?

I really enjoyed this far-fetched fantasy of a general election without politics (BBC 1 Tues 3 Oct). Jane Horrocks is always superbly funny and she kept the thin and outlandish plot moving almost to the end when, sadly, it started to take itself seriously. Then I realised it wasn't the end at all but the start of a series. I don't know where it can go from here, especially as the writers appear to have debunked to the Conservative Party Conference to advise David Cameron on politics with no policies.
